An overview of the ethical issues across the Human Brain Project

We prepared an overview of the ethical issues across the Human Brain Project, compiled in the context of the Ethics Rapporteur Programme and in our Ethics Trilateral Meetings. In the overview, we summarise some of the ethical issues and challenges identified by Ethics Rapporteurs across the Human Brain Project during the last phase of the project.

Since the very beginning of the Human Brain Project, trilateral meetings have been held between representatives of the project’s different work packages, the Ethics Director, and the Ethics Advisory Board. During these meetings, each Ethics Rapporteur from each of the work packages of the project presents the scope of their activities, the ethical challenges they’ve identified, and questions for the future.
